Here Lies the Dead
Highlights: Resolina deals with the aftermath of the Battle of the Pelennor Fields
December 18th - 22nd
Moria Monday: Our kin was rather lacking with so many out for the holidays. We managed to hold together a 3-man in The Mirror-halls of Lumul-nar and around 6 people go into Dâr Narbugud. Finde seems to be having a good night. He managed to get one of the three troll heads and the small turtle from Filikul. The Watcher went by rather quickly. I didn't see much action since Resolina's tanking abilities restrict her perspective of everyone else with a giant sea-creature's head blocking the screen.
Spreadsheet Friday: Bizinga needed to finish killing off warbands in East Rohan. That's about it. Nothing too exciting this week.
March of the King: This quest pack proved quite larger than I anticipated. With the heavy load at work and the daily running around the festival, my gameplay took a nose-dive. For this week, I only managed to complete the first portions in Pelennor Fields and Osgiliath. No more were the days of carrying a backpack through the mountain regions of Far Anórien. Instead, I was busy helping Aragorn with role call. Not everyone returned to camp right away. So it was my duty to go into the fields in search of these men.
Meeting: Of course, Mithrandir had to help with a couple of tasks. There was the issue with the Nazgul's Feelbeast Fellbeast. He cut off the head and gave it to the scholars (which you can actually obtain from the barterer). Then he burned the body. The green fire that emitted from the corpse was quite ominous. There was also the issue with what to do with Sauron's forces now that they were on the retreat. They called upon a meeting with the lords and spilled the beans on the big secret. I personally enjoyed how they showed off the number of forces backing the king's task to fight him head-on.
Ceremony: I got all-too-emotional when thinking about all the people lost on the battlefield. Even now I feel like I have to add a spoiler warning for all those people who don't know about what happens to people like Forlong, Théoden, or even Snowmane (the king's horse). They all died. I hope you got that part. You will be spending a big portion of the time mourning their deaths, and many others, in all sorts of unique settings.
Osgiliath: Surprisingly, the ruins of Osgiliath held up pretty well! It still has that nice devastating theme going on there. I actually expected more bodies and debris instead of the empty wasteland I encountered when entering this place. There is this minor questline where you hunt down a troll with a couple of elves and track down the last of the orcs in sewers. The guys were all surprised to hear about them down there. I would think the rangers would have known to discover a hundred orcs sneak past them into the underbelly of the city since there is no other way out of there. I go in there expecting to kill a dozen for a quest and throw up a rope to escape. They might as well made it an instance. No way was I going to kill the boss at the very end and walk all the way back. That whole quest seemed rather out-of-place for my tastes.
