North Downs- Stoneheight

Location and getting started

This is located just north-east of Amon Raith, but not far enough north that you are in Fornost, stay in woods, and there will be a path that takes you up the side of a hill/mountain that leads right to the gate. You’ll know you are getting close when you all the sudden get knocked off your mount.

Gear/consumables: You will need many wound pots here, and any wound resistance food.

A bit of explanation. (See North Cotton Farm guide under, A bit of Explanation)

Stoneheight

Every pull is almost completely made up of signature type mobs, so be aware that these fights take a touch longer than usual. Also watch out for cloaked goblins, they will stun you if they hit you before you hit them out of stealth. They can also hit very hard with their break stealth attack.
There are only 3 pulls before boss 1 and 2 pathing wolves. Watch for wounds, and the wolves, it’s all pretty basic. You can enter the gate as long as you move left towards the sleeping wolves, and when they are dispatched, you may start boss 1.

Boss 1 (Gundul)

Gundul is the boss, and he has 2 elite assistants which have inductions that I am pretty sure puts wounds on players, they can be told who to attack for a few second by Grundul, and they tier up their damage corruptions.

Grundul has a few tricks up his sleeve. He can tell his two companions to attack anyone he wants, which means they are just sent to hit the called person, and will come back to the tank. He has an induction attack that can cause hefty damage and a nasty wound. Be sure you interrupt it or you may find yourself with too many wounds, and not enough morale. Grundul and his servants will lay down tack AoE spots. They are hard to see, so watch them for where they place them. All three of them also do spear attacks, which are interruptable, that place a mean DOT, so watch out fo that. He builds his corruptions up, and they cannot be taken off with one or even two removals. If you let this get out of hand it can hurt bad. Note: the corruptions tier, instead of stack. You will remove it, and it will only tier down the corruption he already has from 30% dmg to 25%, etc.
Other than that the key is to kill his companions off first, so he can’t order them to kill the healer, and then interrupt, remove corruptions, and tank and spank. Enjoy your loot.

Challenge mode: The challenge mode for Stoneheight is on all three bosses in the instance. The challenge is to not remove even one corruption off anything in all the boss encounters. That includes Grunduls companions. Better kill them quick if you are trying this.

From here go up the big hill and across the bridge. This is where the cloaked goblins start to creep up. The cloaked goblins should alway be #1 on your kill list. They come out frenzied, and can do massive damage, even to tanks, so keep a close eye for the rest of the instance. There will be 2-3 pulls of the same signature mobs, with one thing extra, a ranged mob. Make sure she is either under control and second on the hit list so that your healer doesn’t get pricked by her, surprisingly high damage attacks.

Important note: Once you have beaten the above mentioned pulls, there will be a pull of sleeping wolves. Tier 1, it’s just wolves and a cloaked pathing goblin. Tier 2 you will get 7 other wolves that simply spawn upon waking up the original 3. They sprung on us and we managed to kill them all without dying only because we had cappy healing, a warden drain tanking and a hunter DPSing his brains out. They do massive damage, so pull with care.
After the wolves and the cloaked goblin, there will be another normal pull with goblin, then you will be at boss 2.

Boss 2 (Bubhosh-grat)

Nothing to special with him. He has one induction attack that needs to be interrupted, or it can hurt big time, and a Barz type attack. When he says something like, “Now that I have you close.” Run away from him. You need to be about 10 meters away to not get hit, but if you do get hit, you have little time to move before you die. Just like Grundul, he tiers up his corruption like mad. Make sure you are removing it, unless you are doing challenge mode tier 2, if you don’t, it makes his gnaw your bones attack and induction attack very devastating. HE will also throw down tack AoE circles. They are move visible than the last boss, so but still, watch out. He will also go into frenzy mode towards the end of the fight. His speed and damage go up, so be ready. Just finish him off. When he gets to almost dead, he will run off, and that leaves you to enjoy his loot.

You only have one pull between boss 2 and boss 3. It also has a cloaked gobby.

Boss 3 (Dale Truitt+Bubhosh-grat)

Tier 1

Stand just inside the gate, and watch dale kill old Bub-grat. After he does, you can open the fight, I recommend with a knockdown/stun move, like ambush. He will jump back up and stun someone. They are down for 5-10 seconds. This guy hits very hard. He will play a series of tricks on you. First he’ll do a stun, as mentioned, then he'll disappear, fog will rise, and he will run somewhere, cloaked in the fog and do an induction. If you can see him, interrupt this! If you don't, he'll pop out of the fog, hit you for 2k-3k. Then he does normal, but highly damaging, attacks, until he lays his AoE tack circle. Move out of the circle. Then he repeats the process. Remove the corruptions so he won’t kill the tank, unless you are running challenge mode tier 2, the corruptions work just like the other bosses. At it’s core it’s a tank and spank, but be sure and let your tank gain aggro at the beginning. You do not want to be hit by this guy if you are a clothly. Once he is defeated, steal his stuff and loot his belongings.

Tier 2

The only difference for tier 2 is that you have to fight both Bub-Grat, and Dale together. The best way to do this is have your tank hold Dale, and watch his inductions and tack AoE, and have your DPS go crazy DPS on Bub-Grat until he dies. Make sure you keep Dale at the front of the fight room, and pull Bub-grat to the the gates at the back of the room. You don't want Bub-Grat using his "Come Closer" move on the tank by accident. They both act the same as if they were separate, so you need to watch for all of the above maneuvers each boss does. Also, you may be stunned from dale, is bub-grat starts an induction when you are already stunned, tell your healer to over heal you like mad, because we just might nearly one-shot you. You can survive with healing and kiting maneuvers.

I’ll post any improvements to this guide as I find them, and any good strats as I learn them. Enjoy! (The 6 man guides are soon to come!!)
